
Princess Anne is poised to receive a prestigious new accolade, as the University of Huddersfield will award her an Honorary Doctorate during a special ceremony on Wednesday, July 16 in West Yorkshire.
According to Hello! Magazine, the ceremony will take place at the university’s Queensgate campus in Huddersfield, marking yet another academic recognition for the royal known for her tireless public service.
In addition to the honorary award, King Charles’ [https://royalgossips.com/category/king-charles/] elder sister is scheduled to carry out two significant engagements this week. As Colonel of The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons), she will attend the Household Division’s Beating Retreat at Horse Guards Parade, located in Whitehall, London.
Later that evening, The Princess Royal will attend a formal dinner at 4 St. James’s Square, London SW1 in her role as President of the In and Out Naval and Military Club—a position she has held with great pride.
These latest royal duties follow her recent appearance in Ypres, Belgium, where she led the reopening of The Menin Gate Memorial after a major restoration. According to Buckingham Palace’s Instagram, “A moving ceremony, including our Torch of Peace, marked the end of a two-year, €6 million restoration – the most extensive in the memorial’s near 100-year history.” The palace also confirmed the reopening of the site’s newly refurbished Visitor Centre.
Princess Anne, who turns 75 this summer, continues to cement her legacy as the hardest working member of the British Royal Family, having completed the highest number of official engagements so far in the 2024–2025 royal calendar.
