Camille Gottlieb Channels Grace Kelly’s Iconic Style at Monaco’s Red Cross Ball

Camille Gottlieb, 27, paid a heartfelt tribute to her late grandmother, Princess Grace of Monaco, by channeling one of her most iconic Hollywood looks during the annual Red Cross Ball in Monaco. The youngest daughter of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, Camille turned heads in a custom gown inspired by Grace Kelly’s elegant ensemble from the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock classic Rear Window.

The dress, created by designer Elisabetta Franchi, featured a dramatic black off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline, a white tulle skirt, and floral embellishments that gracefully adorned the waist. While Grace famously paired the original gown with pearls, Camille opted for a Cartier necklace, pairing the look with a chic updo and soft face-framing strands.

“I’ve seen all her films. Her outfit in Alfred Hitchcock’s work is one of my favorites,” Camille shared with Gala magazine ahead of the glamorous evening. “When I was very little, I was often told that I looked like my grandmother. To me, it’s one of the best compliments I could ever receive.”

After the event, Camille took to Instagram to post striking images from the ball, expressing her gratitude to the designer: “Thanks to @elisabettafranchi [I] was able to pay tribute to my grandmother with this magnificent dress,” she wrote in French.

Born to Princess Stéphanie and former palace security guard Jean Raymond Gottlieb, Camille has always shared a close bond with both parents despite their brief relationship and unmarried status. “Without them, I could not live,” she told Point de Vue. “They did not stay together very long, but they always said to me, ‘We have desired you, and our happiness is that you are here.’”

Camille’s philanthropic efforts are inspired by her mother’s legacy. “I have seen my mother helping others… since I was born,” she told the Monaco Tribune. “She has always told me, ‘I thrive on people’s smiles.’” Those values remain central to Camille’s life and charitable work.

In 2017, she founded Be Safe Monaco, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness around drunk driving. She is also the head of the Monegasque Red Cross’ youth section, a role that sees her attending the star-studded gala each year alongside key members of the principality.

This year, she was joined by her brother Louis Ducruet, his wife Marie, and their uncle and aunt Prince Albert and Princess Charlene. Much like her granddaughter, Grace Kelly—who became Princess of Monaco after her 1956 marriage to Prince Rainier III—was deeply committed to humanitarian causes. She founded AMADE Mondiale, a children’s rights organization that continues to operate globally.

Grace’s untimely death in September 1982 left a lasting legacy not just in Monaco, but across the world. Camille’s tribute serves as a poignant reminder of that legacy, carried forward by a new generation.
