King Charles Heads to Walmer Castle for Historic Cinque Ports Gathering

King Charles is packing in the engagements this July, with a regal visit to Walmer Castle—the historic official residence of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports—scheduled for 10 July 2025.

The visit, confirmed by Majesty Magazine, will see His Majesty meet representatives from the 14 coastal towns that make up the Confederation of Cinque Ports, a ceremonial grouping of port towns with deep-rooted ties to Britain’s maritime past. These towns have historically played a critical role in defending the realm and supporting the Royal Navy.

Majesty Magazine shared on social media:

“The King will visit Walmer Castle, official residence of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, on 10 July to meet representatives from the 14 coastal towns that make up the Confederation of #CinquePorts. HM will also visit the Captain’s Garden @ Deal Castle & Walmer @RNLI.”

Alongside the castle visit, King Charles is also expected to stop by the Captain’s Garden at Deal Castle and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in Walmer, underlining the monarchy’s continued appreciation for Britain’s coastal communities and volunteer services.
