Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be living the California dream in their multimillion-dollar Montecito mansion, but recent reports suggest the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are counting every penny—and not everyone’s impressed.
Royal commentator Louise Roberts, speaking to Sky News Australia, raised eyebrows this week with a sharp take on the couple’s cost-cutting decisions. “Despite the fact that they live in this huge mansion and they got a big wad of cash from Spotify, Netflix, and everything else, apparently they’re having to count the pennies,” she said, expressing disbelief over their latest financial move.
According to Roberts, the Sussexes’ first step in tightening the budget was reportedly letting go of their communications team. “Which is just insane,” she added. “You’d think they’d go first for the edible flower arranger. Surely their role is limited to an extent, whereas their comms person is rather critical.”
The criticism doesn’t end there. Insiders speaking to Page Six echoed similar sentiments, saying, “The Sussexes cycle through staff as quickly as normal people cycle through toilet paper.” The remark adds fuel to the ongoing scrutiny of Harry and Meghan’s approach to managing their high-profile lives post-royal exit.
