Meghan Markle Shares Sweet Dog Photo as Queen Camilla Highlights Animal Charity Work

Meghan Markle drew quiet attention on Monday, July 14, by sharing a soft, personal moment on social media—just hours after a similar post by Queen Camilla.

The Duchess of Sussex posted an image via her lifestyle brand As Ever’s Instagram account, featuring her rescue beagle, Mia, nestled beside her. Meghan, mostly out of frame, appeared to be enjoying a glass of mint tea while affectionately petting the nine-year-old pup.

“Summer afternoons, mint tea and the sweetest company,” read the caption beneath the image, offering a tranquil glimpse into the Sussexes’ California lifestyle.

Mia, who was rescued by Prince Harry and Meghan from an animal testing facility in 2022, was first seen in the family’s Christmas card released in December.

Earlier the same day, Queen Camilla appeared in an Instagram post from the Royal Palace account, posing with Moley, the Jack Russell Terrier she adopted in May. Her appearance coincided with a public visit to the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in London, where she serves as Patron.

The Queen’s engagement marked the unveiling of a new Dog Garden, designed by gardening broadcaster Monty Don and originally featured at the Chelsea Flower Show. The garden was recreated as a serene space for shelter animals.

According to The Telegraph, the two seemingly unconnected pet posts followed a significant moment behind the scenes. Reports surfaced of ongoing peace talks between King Charles and Prince Harry‘s communication teams, which took place in London on July 9. The aim: to thaw relations amid a years-long family dispute.
